August 20th, 2011

SEO means Search Engine Optimization. The idea here is to get search engines to like your website and rank it higher and higher when people do searches in google.

Many people call this “free” traffic or “free SEO traffic” because it comes from the search engines.

While “free”, a lot of time (and sometimes money) has to go into Search Engine Optimization. It is not all that it cracks up to be. The visitors enter some keywords or keywords phrases and the search engine returns your page somewhere (hopefully on the first page).

Google Adsense: Why You Should Use It To Make Money Online.

July 24th, 2011

Undoubtedly, you’ve heard about Google’s AdSense to make money on the internet, and you are thinking about giving it a go. This article will give you an intro to Google Adsense and why it is one of the best options to start making money online.

Google Adsense: one of the easiest ways to make money blogging.

The answer is a definite yes: Google Adsense is a great way to make money online. You could always have some other banner on your site, or even use some search of affiliate ad program and that would probably make you some money, given of course that your site enjoys a healthy amount of visitors. However with affiliate marketing, it is expected that the visitor from your website completes a sale before you are remunerated.

With Google Adsense, the ads change depending on the content of your page. Also, you are paid per click regardless of if the user buys anything or not once they click on the ad.

What you need to think about is the size of the ad placement, the shape of the ad placement, and the colors. You don’t have to worry about finding advertisers, finding programs for each specific page, or even keeping all the links up to dates as affiliate programs come and go.

Google, being a search engine company, has managed to write scripts which can scan the content of your page, then scan its own database of Adwords advertisers, then deliver appropriate ads to your page – all in an instant!

If you compare this to banner ads or affiliate links, there is not much comparison. You will need to hunt down multiple affiliate products if your page has multiple topics. Otherwise, you may have non targeted ads and users are less likely to click on non targeted ads.

With Google AdSense that just about never happens: the ads are targeted. The user comes to your site looking for information and the ads displayed are possible answers that the user is looking for.

For many people, there’s also a great problem with finding people to advertise on their site as well. AdSense is clearly the easiest solution available to this problem today. Google Adsense acts as the “broker”. It can search in its database of advertisers and match them with your content.

AdSense is a great advertising program because a lot of thought has went into making it “just work for everyone”. It works great for the people who use AdWords, for the webmasters using AdSense, and most importantly for the visitors of the websites.

What do you need to do from here?

Here are a few steps:

1. You need a website first to put the Ads on. If you have one already, great! If not, then you will need to create one. Some free website providers do not allow you to put ads on there so you will want to look at hosting your own which will cost between $7 and $12 per month.

2. Create your content to be keyword targeted. For any existing content, you will want to consider modifying it to also be keyword targeted. The way to do this is to take the overall meaning of the page, check out Google Adwords keyword tool to find out what keywords people are using to search for content like yours, find keywords with high search volume, and use those keywords in your articles. You will most likely have a “main” keyword to focus on and then many “related” keywords. Use the “main” keyword in the title, intro, and conclusion. Use the “related” keywords throughout the rest of your article.

3. If you have not already, apply for a Google Adsense account. You will need to submit a site for approval so make sure you have a quality website up with quality content.

4. You can now create Adsense “units” and then copy and paste the javascript into your site’s pages.

With commitment and perservearance, anyone can make money on the internet

That is all there is to setting up your sites for Google Adsense. Going forward, you will eventually want to learn about some traffic generation tactics. There are many, and the easiest one is article marketing. As you are already writing articles for your site, you can use those to drive traffic by syndicating them (a.k.a. submitting them) to various article directories. With each article that is submitted you are allowed a “resource box”. This is where you post more information about you and you can post a link to your website. This is one of many effective traffic generation methods.

Just don’t forget, though, that the main idea right now is just to get started. This means getting your site up, getting your content keyword optimized, and getting your Adsense units on your website. So go out there and get started and and you will find it’s quite simple to be making money online with Google Adsense.

Easy SEO Traffic Trick For Your Blogs And Business Sites

July 6th, 2011

Here is one of my favorite blogging tips.  The most important thing of any blog or site is to get readers into the door. If your blog is for fun, you may still want to attract readers to motivate you to continue blogging. For businesses, getting customers is necessary for survival.

So here are the three basic steps for SEO traffic and getting readers:

1) Create your online presence. This can be a website or blog.

2) Write articles a.k.a. blog posts for your blog and website

3) Post articles to various article directories with links back to your blog or website

Article Marketing is one of the tried and true methods of marketing your online site

This method is called article marketing and is a very effective way to promote your website.

So What’s Next?

1) Set up your online presence. This can be a website or blog.

There are many free blogging website out there. Some of my favorites include: blogger.com, typepad.com, livejournal.com, and wordpress.com. You can definitely use these as your online presence. For a small extra charge you can integrate your own domain name as your blog. This is important if you want to create a brand. Sometimes you will want to have even more functionality and control in which case a self-hosted site works best. My preference is for self-hosted WordPress sites.

2) Write articles a.k.a. blog posts for your blog and website

Search engines want to rank sites that they think are the most value added for their readers. This is why you will want to keep your site updated. One post per week is the minimum. Twice a week is preferred. So this means writing articles constantly for your blog. The more you post the better. Each update does not have to be a serious piece of work. You do want quality content but you can also update your site or blog with some small piece of trivia or commentary on current events as well. Just know the more you post, the better.

You can “drip feed” your posts too. This means you can write many articles ahead of time and then schedule them to post at intervals. For example, you could write fifty two articles in a few days and then schedule them to post once a week. Then when you go in and update your blog for the rest of the year it can just be something brief on current events.

3) Post articles to various article directories with links back to your blog or website

Article directories are like magazines. There are many out there, some more popular than others. YOu want to post your articles to these directories. While most article directories frown upon links in the article themselves, they will always offer a resource box or author box where you can add links to your site.

This serves two reasons: first, people reading the articles know where to find you. Second, search engines will see more links to your site and possibly rank you higher.

One important tip on this is to use targeted keywords as your anchor text when providing links in your resource box. This will tell the search engines which keywords you want to rank for.

Search Engine Optimization: After all your site is nothing without visitors

That is the simple part of article marketing. As you get more experienced you will find other useful tips useful for you. As an example, ways to write your article titles to get people to want to read them. How to write your articles and resource boxes to get a higher clickthrough to your site. The different article directories to submit to is also something you will learn. Some get more traffic than others. How to utilize links back to your own site will also be something to learn. Those are all intermediate to advanced topics which you can learn about more once you get familiar with the basics of article marketing.

Good luck with your SEO traffic, SEO Link Building, and article marketing practices!
